The duo behind the winning partnership at The Naked Cup and Simply Foodelicious
Let’s start at the beginning. Can you each tell us a little about your professional journey?
Bob: I started as a baker and barista, trained in a French culinary school. After running a successful bakery, I co-founded The Naked Cup in 2018 to create a cozy community café where quality and connection thrive.
Sergio: My culinary journey spans over 30 years across Greece, Cyprus, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Toronto. I’ve always been drawn to flavor — bold, layered, and thoughtful. Like Bob, I also trained in the French hospitality tradition. That’s where we first found common ground.
So how did this partnership come to be?
Sergio: We crossed paths again locally and started talking shop. We realized we shared the same values — passion for quality, doing things in-house, and elevating everyday food.
Bob: And it just clicked. We complement each other — coffee and pastry on one side, bold savory creations on the other. It felt natural to blend our strengths under one roof.
What does each of your brands represent?
Bob: For me, The Naked Cup is all about warmth, community, and craftsmanship. It’s the kind of place where people feel at home — whether they’re grabbing a morning coffee, catching up with friends, or enjoying a quiet moment. Every cup and pastry reflects our commitment to quality and care.
Sergio: Simply Foodelicious is more than a name — it’s a culinary standard. It stands for real artisan food, complex flavors, and a hands-on approach. Every sauce, every dish is made in-house with integrity and imagination — a result of decades of global experience brought to the local table.
What can customers look forward to with this new collaboration?
Sergio: More than ever, it’s about flavor and experience. Expect house-made sauces, globally inspired dishes with a twist, and brunch that goes beyond the basics — all created with the best ingredients and genuine passion.
Bob: And don’t worry — the heart of The Naked Cup isn’t going anywhere. You’ll still find our signature coffee, pastries, and the cozy vibe that made this place special in the first place. Now, we’re just adding even more layers to love.
Let’s talk brunch! Why is Sunday brunch such a big deal for you two?
Sergio: Sunday brunch is our love letter to the weekend — it’s meant to feel a little indulgent, a little unexpected. Think classics reimagined, rich sauces, and flavors that wake you up in the best way.
Bob: It’s also a moment for families, friends, and good conversation. We wanted to create something that feels both elevated and familiar — and just a little bit celebratory.
And the evening menu — tell us about that.
Sergio: Dinner is where we really play. Think rustic comfort with refined touches, a mix of traditional roots and global inspiration. It’s warm, bold, and deeply satisfying.
Bob: We’re also introducing a fantastic cocktail menu, with balanced, fresh creations that pair beautifully with the food. From a casual bite to a full evening out — this is the new rhythm of The Naked Cup.
When is everything kicking off?
Bob: We officially launch Sunday Brunch on April 20th, and the evening dinner service begins April 24th.
Sergio: We’ve poured our hearts into this. The excitement is real — we can’t wait to welcome everyone and show them what we’ve been building.
What sets you apart from others in the area?
Bob: It’s the quality. We don’t cut corners — our coffee beans, our pastries, our service — everything is built on care and craftsmanship.
Sergio: And the food isn’t just cooked, it’s created. My dishes are rooted in tradition, but always evolving. We’re offering something truly unique to the Windsor-Tecumseh area — real artisan food with global soul.
Why do you think The Naked Cup won the 2025 Canadian Choice Award for Best Café?
Bob: I think it comes down to consistency and heart. People know we care — about the product and about them.
Sergio: And now with Simply Foodelicious, we’re doubling down on that promise — taking things to the next level.
Final thoughts? A message to your community?
Bob: Thank you for growing with us. We built this space for you — your mornings, your coffee breaks, your special moments.
Sergio: We’re here because of your support and trust. This is just the beginning of something even more delicious.
Together: Come hungry, come curious, and come often — everything here is Simply Foodelicious.
